- 1 cup Toor Dal (Split)
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
- Salt , to taste For tempering
- 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
- 3 Dry red chillies
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves (Dhania) , few, for garnish

To prepare Dali Thoy Recipe (Karwar Style Toor dal Curry), rinse toor dal in water and then pressure cook with 1 cup water and turmeric powder for about 2 whistles.
In a pan heat ghee. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Then add dried red chilies, hing, and curry leaves. Saute for till curry leaves splutter and turn off the heat.
Mash the cooked dal well, add salt to taste. Add the tempering and fresh coriander leaves. Mix well. Serve Dali Thoy Recipe (Karwar Style Toor dal Curry) hot with steamed rice.
