Kuzhi PaniyaramSpice up your dosa batter (Indian crepe mixture) with onions, chiiles and mustard and serve it as an appetizer, a quick healthy light lunch or a snack box for school.  An interesting quick dish which can be made from the ready dosa batter available in your fridge or at your grocer. Make it nutritious by adding grated carrots, pureed tomatoes, chopped spinach or even spring onions and cabbage to give it an Asian touch. Go ahead and indulge in these quick and easy savory protein cakes. Equipment Needed: Paniyaram Pan : These Paniyaram Pans are very versatile. I like to steam many batters which require deep frying, like making dahi vada's, gobi manchurian or even kofta's. Surely an investment that you can think of to start cooking healthy.

Idli UpmaWhat better way to reuse some left over lentil cakes (Idli's), then crumble coarsely and spice it up with some green chillies and sour it up with some lemon. Another art in south is to reuse the leftovers to make a tasty snack and this is the ever popular among the quick dishes you can make, provided you have those idli's ready and about a day old.

Ragi DosaA dosa that is packed with protein and fiber is a delicious alternative to a bland porridge. Ragi, Oatmeal and Soy flour are whisked together and spiced up with green chillies, coriander leaves and cumin. The result is an absolutely delicious flavor and packing you up with all that energy. This has always been a quick fix meal for me when I run out of groceries. My children enjoy these dosa's for breakfast or dinner. It taste great with just a cup of yogurt, but I love to serve it with a spicy home made tomato sauce.
