Sev Puri

( 31 Votes )

A favorite street food of Mumbai, so much so that it has spread all over India and ever chaat wala “ Street Food Vendor” has his own version of sev puri. As the name indicates, this dish has sev topped on puri’s or papadi’s along with potatoes and chutneys. This is an absolutely tangy, crisp and mouth watering dish that is savored fresh, as soon as it is made.

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Ingredients of Garnish

  • 1 cup sev
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander

Method

Arrange the papadi’s on a serving plate

Top each papadi with a little potato onion and raw mango

Further top the papadi’s with some fresh garlic chutney, date and tamarind chutney and green chutney

Sprinkle chaat masala lemon juice and salt on the top

Garnish with lots of sev and coriander leaves.

Serve immediately

Hi Archana, I love Sev Puri, a fantastic snack, whatever the season. We have recently started to offer fresh, mouth watering chaats at Indian weddings which has been a great hit - we love adding fresh pomoganate to our chaats!

it is wrong to say that sev poori was invented in mumbai.actually chaat has been prevalent in entire hindi belt, delhi, hary ana and punjab and from there it has spread to rest of country.no doubt, mumbai's version of chaat is great but down south they have really messed it up.
