Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich is great snack or breakfast that can carry well into your childs snack box or have it as an after school snack. Rich in protiens from the whole wheat and peanuts packed with the wholesomeness of the bananas, makes it super healthy and a perfect energy booster. You could choose to grill the sandwich if you plan to have it warm. If you plan to carry it in your lunch box then, the non grilled version stays well. This is surely a sweet and a warm breakfast idea. Cooked like a grilled cheese sandwich but filled with peanut butter and bananas taste delicious. You could also spread / drizzle with a rasberry or strawberry jam if you like it sweeter.
2 slices whole wheat/ multigrain bread
1 small banana, sliced into rounds
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 tablespoon crunchy peanut butter
For the non grilled version, spread the peanut butter onto one side of the bread. Place the banana slices onto the peanut buttered side of the slice. Top the other slice and press together firmly with your palms. You can choose to slice the edges off and then cut half diagonally and serve.
For Grilling: Make a sandwich like above and place it over a sandwich grill or a stove top grill/ pan. Spread softened butter to coat the open sides of the bread slices. Place the sandwich on the grill and grill until crisp and browned.
