Sushi is famous Japanese snack, where cooked rice is combined with vinegar and other ingredients and spread over the Seaweed (also called as Nori). A layer of vegetables or seafood is then layered over the rice and it is rolled very tightly. It is then sliced and served with soy sauce. So let's see how to prepare this vegetarian sushi.

Ingredients

  • 2 Seaweed Sheets
  • 1 cup Cooked rice
  • 1 Carrot (Gajjar) , cut into thin strips
  • 1 Cucumber , cut into thin strips
  • 1 Avocado , cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar , (Adjust according to your preference)
  • Salt , to taste

Directions for Vegetarian Sushi Recipe

  1. To begin making the Vegetarian Sushi recipe, cut the vegetables into thin strips. Add salt and mix thoroughly. Keep aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl, take rice vinegar, sugar, add rice to it and mix.

  3. Take one seaweed and spread rice mixture over it in a thin layer. Don't cover the edges.

  4. Arrange the vegetables in a single line. Don't overcrowd.

  5. Start rolling it. Press it so that the roll gets tightened.

  6. Cut the roll into half first with a sharp knife. Don't put pressure on knife while cutting.

  7. Just make back and forth motion. Cut them into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Serve Vegetarian Sushi with soy sauce.
