Almond milk has a nutty flavour and creamy taste. It does not contain cholesterol and lactose. It is most suitable for lactose intolerants and vegans. It can also be made at home using a blender, almonds and water. Simple and easy! Almond milk can be used in desserts, smoothie and pudding preparations instead of whole milk. Additionally, it gives great flavour to the dish.

  • 1 cup Whole Almonds (Badam)
  • Water , as required
  • Honey , as required

Directions for How To Make Homemade Almond Milk

  1. To begin making Almond milk, first soak the almonds overnight for about 10-12 hours.

  2. Once the almonds are soaked well, drain the almonds and keep the drained water. You can reuse it for making the Almond Milk.

  3. Peel the almonds one by one and place them in a grinder jar. Add about 2 cups of water including the drained water. Grind then almonds to a smooth consistency till it resembles milk. Your Almond Milk is ready. Alternatively, you can blend the almonds with the skin on. This will give the almond milk a coarser texture.

  4. You can use sweeteners like honey, sugar or maple syrup as required. To sweeten the Almond Milk is optional.
