Chinese Oats with Sweet & Spicy Chili Potato has a burst of variant flavors from the sweet chili sauce, garlic, ginger and roasted potatoes. The addition of Saffola Chinese Oats, not only adds to the flavor, but also gives the chili potato the added nutrition and consistency. The addition of oats also eliminates the need to add flour, as you get a great body for the Chili Potato.

Ingredients

  • 4 Potatoes (Aloo) , peeled and diced
  • 4 Stalks Spring Onion (Bulb & Greens) , fine chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic , finely chopped
  • 2 inch Ginger , finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies , finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 cup Instant Oats (Oatmeal) , (Chinese Masala )
  • 1/2 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sweet and Spicy Red Chilli Sauce (Tomato Chilli Sauce)
  • Salt , (if required)

Directions for Chinese Oats with Sweet & Spicy Chili Potato Recipe

  1. To begin making the Chinese Oats with Sweet & Spicy Chili Potato, heat 1/2 teaspoon of oil in a kadai on medium high heat and add the diced potatoes.

  2. Sprinkle some salt, a little water stir-fry the potatoes until cooked. Cover the pan, so the steam that gets created will help cook the potatoes faster. This will take about 5 minutes.

  3. Once done, transfer the potatoes to another bowl and keep aside.

  4. In the same kadai, heat 1/ 2 teaspoon of oil on medium heat. Add the ginger,garlic, green chilies and the spring onions. Stir-fry for a few seconds till the aromas come through. 

  5. Add the Saffola Chinese Oats, 1/2 cup of water, the chili sauce and the soy sauce. Stir well to combine.

  6. The chili sauce will begin to thicken, at this stage add the roasted potatoes and saute well for another 4 minutes.

  7. Once you noticed the potatoes have a thick chili oats coating around them, turn off the heat. Check the salt and spices and adjust to suit your taste.

  8. Serve the Chinese Oats with Sweet & Spicy Chili Potato along with Creamy Cheese Mushroom Bruschetta Recipe as a great appetizer for a weekend dinner.. When serving for parties, place toothpicks and serve.
