Mumbai Style Bhel Puri Recipe is a simple and easy snack that is made from puffed rice combined with a variety of raw salad ingredients. Bhel Puri is most often made with just basic ingredients like tomatoes, potatoes, cucumber, onions, green and tamarind chutneys, sev and papdi.
Puffed Rice is also called as Mumra or Moodi or pori in different parts of india and can be combined with a variety of ingredients making it tangy and spicy.
Bhel Puri was originally a Gujarati fast food now synonymous as Indian street food. Bhel Puri is best consumed as soon as it is made. If left for a while, the juices from the tomatoes, chutneys, etc. combine to render the sev and puffed rice soggy. Much of the fun of eating Bhel Puri is in the crunchiness. It can even make a quick and light weeknight dinner.
