Narkoler Chanch or Coconut block is an old recipe from my grandma's kitchen. The main ingredients of this recipe is coconut and milk and the stone block. This stone block I inherited from my grandma. This stone block is used to give shape and texture to this sweet dish.

In bengali festivals and marriage this homemade sweet is prepared. This can be store in an airtight container for 15 days.

Serve Narkoler Chance as a dessert after your Bengali meal of Bengali Chapor Ghonto, Bengali Style Lau Die Tetor Dal and Bengali Luchi.

  • 2 cups Fresh coconut , scraped
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1-1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee

How to make Narkoler Chance Recipe (Bengali Style Coconut Block)

  1. To begin making the Narkoler Chanch recipe, In a food processor blend milk, coconut, cardamom powder and sugar until smooth.

  2. Next, in a heavy bottom pan boil the coconut mixture until the mixture is dry but moist and forms a dough. 

  3. Now, brush ghee on the stone block. Take a handful of cooked coconut mixture and flatten on the block widely. Then press it a little bit to get the art work on coconut mixture. Slowly and carefully remove it from the block. 

  4. Do the same to the remaining coconut mixture. Narkoler Chanch block is ready.

  5. Serve Narkoler Chance as a dessert after your Bengali meal of Bengali Chapor GhontoBengali Style Lau Die Tetor Dal and Bengali Luchi.
