Flaxseeds and roasted gram dal makes a perfect combinantion of Omega3 and protiens. It makes a perfect snack for those long trecks, schools snack boxes or even a mid morning snack.
I do sometimes roast yellow split mung into this to make it extra nutricious. You could also make it with all of jaggery and not use sugar at all.
Ingredients
1 cup Dalia (pottukadalai,fried gram)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup jaggery
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 cup flax seed powder (freshly ground)
1/4 cup almonds powdered
4 tablespoons ghee
Method
Roast the channa dal until it releases the roasted aroma and slightly changes its color. Powder it. Combine it the rest of the ingredients along with ghee. Knead using your hands until it holds into a ball of mass. The heat in your hands help all the ingredients get together. Roll them into lemon size balls. Store in an air tight container for a few days and longer in the refrigerator.
