  • 1-3/4 cups Vivatta Maida , (225grams)
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Hot water
  • Ingredients for flan
  • 4 fl oz Britannia Cream Cheese , softened
  • 4 Whole Eggs , at room temperature
  • 14 fl oz Condensed Milk
  • 12 fl oz Evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Directions for Chocolate Flan Cake Recipe

  1. To begin making Chocolate Flan Cake Recipe, preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Melt 4 tablespoons of sugar in a broad saucepan, on low heat till the sugar starts caramelising.

  3. Once it browns, pour the caramelized sugar to the base of the bundt pan and twirl around to coat.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt until everything is blended. Add the cake batter to the mould.

  5. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla and whisk to combine. Then whisk in the boiling water.

  6. Now add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until combined. 

  7. Combine cream cheese, eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla in blender container. Process until blended. Pour slowly over the cake batter. (While baking, the cake rises and the milk mixture goes to the bottom) Coat piece of foil with no-stick cooking spray.

  8. Cover pan, coated side down, tightly with foil. Place it in a large roasting pan. Pour hot water into roasting pan to a depth of about 2 inches.

  9. Bake it for one hour or till the toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool very well and preferably overnight in refrigerator. Then unmold it, slice and serve.
