To begin with, the Raw banana Thoran first, cut the raw banana into half and boil it in the pressure cooker for 3 to 4 whistles and turn off the heat. Once cooked, through, peel the skin and cut into dices.
Blend all the ingredients "to be ground" into a coarse paste and keep aside.
In a heavy bottom pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to cracke. When they crackle add dry red chillies, curry leaves, onions and garlic. Sauté until the onions soften. Add the cooked banana, the ground coconut mixture and give it a stir.
Add the salt to taste and stir fry for about 3 to 4 minutes until the raw banana thoran is well incorporated. Once done, serve warm.
