- 300 grams Gawar Phali (Kothavarangai / Cluster beans) , washed and cut into 1-1.5 inch pieces
- 1 Onion , chopped
- 1 Tomato , chopped
- 4 cloves Garlic , finely chopped

How to make Gawar Phali Masala Sabzi Recipe - Cluster Beans Gravy Sabzi
To begin making the Gawar Phali Masala Sabzi Recipe, place the gawar phali in a pressure cooker, sprinkle salt and 2 tablespoons water. Pressure cook for 1 whistle and turn off the heat.
Release the pressure immediately by placing the cooker under cold water. Open the cooker, and the beans will be fresh and green. Keep aside while we will make the masala for the Gawar Phali Masala sabzi.
Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and allow the seeds to crackle.
After 10 seconds, add onions, garlic and ginger and saute until the onions soften.
Once the onions are soft, add asafoetida, tomatoes and let it cook till the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
Next, add coriander powder, groundnut powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and cook for about a minute.
After a minute, add the cooked cluster beans/gawar and saute for a couple of minutes. Add 1/2 cup of water and give the Gawar Phali Masala Sabzi Recipe a brisk boil. Check the salt and spices and adjusts accordingly.
After a minute of brisk boil, turn off the heat and transfer the Gawar Phali Masala Sabzi Recipe into a serving bowl, stir in the coriander leaves and serve hot.
