Ingredients

  • 2 Onions , sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger , finely grounded
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic , finely grounded
  • 1/4 cup Curd (Dahi / Yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • Green Chillies , chopped, for taste
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • Red Chilli powder , to taste
  • Salt , to taste

Directions for Rajasthani Kande Ki Sabzi Recipe - Onion Sabzi

  1. To begin the preparation of Rajasthani Kande Ki Sabzi, in a bowl, mix yogurt with water, and whisk until well combined.

  2. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder & salt to the yogurt mixture. 

  3. In a pan, heat ghee, on medium flame, once it is hot, add in the cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle.

  4. Now add ginger, garlic and green chillies and saute for about a minute. Stir well

  5. Add in the sliced onions and mix well. Continue to cook until the onions turn into a lovely brown colour.

  6. Add the yoghurt mixture and increase the flame to a medium high and allow the onions to cook till the moisture has been absorbed.

  7. Transfer the dish into the serving bowl 

  8. Serve hot with phulkadal and pulao, for a complete simple weekday lunch.
