The Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe is something that make every home and every pasta or every dish that has this refreshed! Nothing like home made pesto, with fresh ingredients like basil and herbs and ground with your favorite nut like walnut or almonds or pine nuts. I have used just basil in this pesto recipe, but you can add, parsley, mint, basil, coriander and make it a herbed pesto, it tastes delicious as well and adds a twist to the original recipe.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams Basil leaves , with stems removed
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts , toasted
  • 4 cloves Garlic , finely chopped
  • Salt , to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Whole Black Peppercorns , coarsely pounded
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese , grated

How to make Fresh Basil Pesto Recipe

  1. To begin, making the Basil Pesto Recipe we will first have to grind all the ingredients together.

  2. Place the walnuts,garlic, basil leaves, salt, and pepper in the food processor and churn until coarse.  With the processor running, slowly pour the olive oil into the bowl through the feed tube and process until the pesto is thoroughly pureed.

  3. Add the Parmesan and puree for a minute. Serve with your favorite pasta or use it as your recipe call it.

  4. Store the Fresh Basil Pesto in the refrigerator and use as and when required to make salads, tarts and even pastas.
