Making Simple Lacha Pyaz Recipe - Pickled Onions requires us to soak the sliced onions in an acidic solution like lemon juice and bit of salt. 

Masala Lacha Pyaz has red chilli powder and chaat masala added to the onions along with lemon juice and salt. This will enhance the flavour of the onion and can be used in various other dishes just to add the crunchiness as well taste. This technique does not require any cooking . It is just mixing up the onions in the brine solution and rest for few hours. 

Masala And Simple Lacha Pyaz is usually served in most restaurants along with most indian starters. They help add a tang and a crunch to most dishes. 

After pickling the onions, it can be stored in a mason jar or any other airtight jar for further usage in the other dishes. Once it is rested for sometime in the onions will get a pinkish tint.

For the Plain Lacha Pyaz

    2 Onions, cut into thin rings
    1 Lemon, juice extracted
    Black Salt (Kala Namak), as required 

For the Masala Lacha Pyaz

    2 Onions, cut into thin rings
    1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
    1/2 teaspoon Chaat Masala Powder
    Salt, to taste
    1 Lemon, juice extracted
