Ingredients

  • 500 grams Chicken , minced, you can use mutton also
  • 250 grams Bhindi (Lady Finger/Okra)
  • 2 Onions , finely chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes , finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoons Coriander Powder (Dhania)
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera) , roasted
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cooking oil , for frying okra+ 2 tablespoons oil for curry
  • Coriander (Dhania) Leaves , chopped, for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves)

How to make Keema Bhindi Recipe - Okra & Minced Meat Curry

  1. To begin making the Keema Bhindi Recipe - Okra and Minced Meat curry, get prepped up with all the ingredients, clean and chop veggies and get ready with minced meat. Wash and pat dry okra well, make sure it’s completely dry to avoid prolonged shallow frying. Discard the head and tail portions and chop them into medium sized pieces.

  2. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a pan. Shallow fry the bhindi for 4 to 6 minutes till the slime disappears. Remove from pan and drain them on kitchen towel.

  3. Add the remaining oil in the same pan. Add finely chopped onions and cook until it turns soft.

  4. Add ginger garlic paste and cook until raw smell is gone.

  5. Add finely chopped tomatoes and sauté until tomatoes turn soft and mushy.

  6. Add all the spice powders, except garam masala. Mix well and cook for a minute.

  7. Add minced meat, mix well. Cook with constant stirring until meat changes color and appears cooked.

  8. Add water as required and mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook until meat is fully cooked.

  9. Once the mince meat is cooked add shallow fried okras and mix well. Cook for about 5 minutes on low flame until combined and the okra is cooked through.

  10. Once done add garam masala powder, give it a mix and turn off the flame.

  11. Sprinkle Kasuri methi and fresh coriander leaves into the keema bhindi and transfer it into a serving bowl. Serve  Keema Bhindi hot. 

  12. Serve Keema Bhindi Recipe - Okra & Minced Meat curry hot with riceparathas or poori and Carrot Cucumber Tomato Salad with Lemon and Coriander .
