Kids spend so much time at school that it is important to pack a good lunch box for them to fuel them through the various activities that they do at school. Good healthy food keeps kids more active and alert. They end up concertinaing better when they have eaten a good meal. 

Choose food which is rich in fiber, proteins, and various nutrients and low in added sugar. Whole grains are better over processed food. Cooking fresh food with seasonal vegetables and ingredients keeps your kid healthy and  they fall sick less often.

Preparing for recipes the night before as much as possible also helps. Get the lunch boxes washed and ready, cut up vegetables or boil dals the night before and keep them ready. Make homemade chutneys and masalas and store them in the fridge. Most importantly put the kids to bed early and sleep on time.

Hare Chane Ka Pulav & Raita

Hare chane are in season and its really healthy and full of nutrition. they are quick to make and do not require any soaking. This is a one pot dish that you can make in a pressure cooker. Pack it with a bowl of curd or your kids favourite raita. 

Tuesday

Podi Idli & Coconut Chutney

Moong dal idili are super simple to make and are very healthy. You can make thengai milagai podi and store it in airtight containers for up to a week or more. Saute the mini idlis in the podi masala and serve with coconut chutney.

You can keep desiccated coconut in the freezer to make chutneys quickly in the mornings. Thaw the required coconut beforehand and while grinding use warm water.

Wednesday

Lobia masala & Pudina Laccha Paratha

Lobia masala is a quick one pot recipe and you can make it easily on a rushed morning. Serve it with Pudina paratha. Mixing greens in your chapati dough ensures that your kid gets added nutrition. This pudina laccha paratha tastes delicious. 

Thursday

Brocolli, Paneer Sandwich & Fresh Fruit Bowl

Achari paratha roll is a delicious roll made with mixed vegetables. You can use any vegetable of your choice. Giving varied vegetables ensures your kid gets more nutrition. Pack banana yogurt and walnut smoothie in a bottle or container with a nice lock and seal lid so that the smoothie doesn't fall and make a mess.
