Here we have a weeks kids box lunch menu plan to make things easier for you.This week's kids lunch box menu plan contains Poha Buttermilk Idli with Kadale Chutney, Mushroom Fried Rice with Indo Chinese Mixed Vegetable Recipe In Szechuan sauce, Punjabi Aloo Paratha with Pickle and Curd, Tomato rice and raita, Achari Paneer Masala & Sweet Potato Thepla. 

It is important to balance the meals in our day to day lives as well as in our children's lives. Since some of us work and are in a hurry in the mornings we tend rush into making lunch boxes which are lacking nutrition and end up packing processed food as well. 

Shop in advance and plan ahead as to what you will be cooking for the week. Many vegetables stay fresh in your fridge if you store them well. vegetables like carrots, broccoli, potatoes, beans, peas are easily available throughout the year and they stay fresh in the refrigerate for up to a week. These nutrient packed vegetables can be added to rotis or sandwiches and help you pack healthy lunch boxes. 

Dry fruits and nuts are excellent food to eat. We have included Kesar Elaichi Aam Chunda Pickle Recipe to be served along with potato paratha. This pickle can be sent and had along with any roti or rice recipe. Since it's not a spicy pickle, kids enjoy it.

Monday

Poha Idli & Kadale Chutney

Poha idili are easy to make and taste so delicious. The Batter for these soft idilis is made the previous day and then in the mornings the idlis are steamed. Serve Poha buttermilk idlis along with & Kadale Chutney for your kids lunch box.

You can add finely chopped carrots and beans to the recipe to make Poha buttermilk idlis more nutritious. 

Tuesday

Mushroom Fried Rice & Mixed Vegetable Curry.

Mushroom Fried Rice is a quick and healthy Indo Chinese Style fried rice which has the goodness of vegetables like carrots, capsicum and mushrooms. You can prep and keep the vegetables in an airtight container in the fridge the previous night. Pack it with Mixed Vegetables in Szechuan sauce. It is easy to make Indo Chinese recipes in the mornings if you have all the vegetables prepped and kept beforehand. 

Wednesday

Aloo Paratha, Aam Chunda & Yogurt

A famous Punjabi recipe Aloo Parathas are easy to make and can be packed with a raita or plain curd and home made pickle. Here we have included a Kesar Elaichi Aam Chunda Pickle which is not a spicy pickle and has the goodness of almonds and pista in it. Adding nuts to your kids diet is important as it adds important nutrients in their diet.

Tomato Rice & Raita

Tomato Rice or Thakkali Sadam as it is popularly called in South India is a simple one pot dish that your kids will relish. You can make the same recipe with left over rice as well where you cook the masla separately then toss the tomato gravy and the rice together. Pack it with a mint and pomegranate raita.

Achari Paneer Masala & Sweet Potato Thepla

Paneer is a good source of calcium and most kids love paneer. Make this easy achari Paneer Masala and pack it with sweet potato thepla. Sweet potatoes are high in beta-carotene and a fibrous and nutritious vegetable.
