  • 1 Fresh coconut , grated
  • 1 liter Milk
  • 3/4 cup Sugar , adjustable
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder (Elaichi)
  • 1 tablespoon Whole Almonds (Badam) , chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cashew nuts , chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Pistachios , chopped
  • Saffron strands , a pinch, (optional)

How to make Nariyal Ki Kheer Recipe - Coconut Pudding

  1. To begin making Nariyal Ki Kheer Recipe, crush and soak the saffron strands in 1 teaspoon warm milk.

  2. In a thick bottom pan, bring the rest of the milk to boil on a medium heat. You need to stir in continuously to avoid any sticking to the base. Keep stirring till the milk is reduced to just half of the original amount.

  3. Now add grated coconut to milk and stir it firmly until it again starts boiling.

  4. Cook on low medium heat for about 15-20 minutes or till the coconut is cooked well.

  5. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron, almonds, cashews and pistachios. Stir it well and cook it for 5-7 minutes further, or till the nuts are cooked.

  6. Garnish it with some remaing dry fruits and serve warm or chilled.
