Its just the starting of festivals that are celebrated in India on a large scale and one of them, Bakra Eid is just around the corner. In addition as you might know it as ‘Eid-ul-Adha’, this magnificent and religious festival is celebrated by Muslims all over the world as per the Hijri calendar.

 

On the morning of this religious festival, people from the muslim community dress in their new clothes and go out to offer prayers at the mosque. Once the prayers are done, they exchange greetings by hugging each other and wishing Eid Mubarak. Later, they meet each other on breakfast which usually starts off with a sweet preparation, mainly Sheer Khurma or Seviyan.

This festival is all about giving and sacrificing in the name of the Allah. After the breakfast, it is celebrated by sacrificing a goat which is termed as ‘Sacrificing Feast’ and hence the name Bakra Eid. From Kebabs, Biryani to Sweets, many lip smacking dishes are prepared during this festival. The feast is divided into three parts, where one is kept for the family, the second one is given to friends and relatives and the third one is given to the poor and needy.
