Strawberry Trifle with Grand marnier is a dessert that I make when I have a party and have many things to cook. This trifle recipe is a quick dessert that is easy to put together in just a few simple steps. All you need is some fresh strawberries, pound cake, whipped cream and walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams Strawberries , cored and quartered
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Lemon juice
  • 400 ml Heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup Caster Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 400 grams Lemon Pound Cake , or golden yellow cake
  • 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier , liqueur
  • 6 Walnuts , toasted for garnishing

How to make Strawberry Trifle Recipe With Grand Marnier

  1. To make the compote; In a small shallow sauce pan, toss in the quartered strawberries along with 1/2 cup of sugar and juice from one lemon. With heat on medium, keep stirring the mixture continuously until the sugar melts. Continue to

  2. Cook the strawberries until it is tender and the compote has thickened. You will notice that towards the cooking process, the mixture begins to bubble and the syrup is thickened, once done, allow this mixture to cool completely. Chill in the refrigerator before using it for the dessert.

  3. To make the whipped cream; Add the heavy cream into a bowl of the stand mixer and add in the icing sugar and whisk the cream until soft peaks are formed. Refrigerate till you get the cake ready, if you are making one or you can buy a cake from the store too.

  5. Using a serrated knife or a cookie cutter cut the cake lengthwise into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  6. Line up 2 glasses, spoon in some strawberry compote at the bottom layer, add a few of the cake pieces as the next layer, then top it with the whipped cream, next drizzle a tablespoon of the grand marnier, then some more compote and some walnuts.

  7. Proceed the same way with another layer and the other glasses as well.
