Every day meal plans are a daunting task to do all by yourself, since you have many other tasks in the day, especially on weekdays. Weekends would be more blessed than weekdays because we have time to think and organize. It would be great if there is an early plan laid out for the week ahead such that we know clearly of what to shop and how much to shop for the week. This menu for weeknights have a blending mix of cuisines across India & the World (Especially for Saturday nights) which help in wholesome nutrition for the nights.

We understand that the only peaceful time when you retrospect your fruitful day is at night. It would be lovely if less time goes into planning and preparing the dinners. This week, try recipes like Vegetarian Biryani with Chatpata Aloo, Maharashtrian Style Batatyacha Kees, Sprouts Salad, Kung Pao Tofu with Vegetables and more.

Dry Sabzis can be made into interesting paratha rolls for next morning's breakfast or the curries can also be packed for lunch the next day. Monday nights are usually tiring, so here is a simple dish of Vegetable Biryani which can be made so quickly in a pressure cooker if you have your biryani masala prepared over the weekend or in the morning. Serve the biryani with a simple tomato, onion and cucumber raita to have the perfect finish to start of your work week.

Tuesday

Ande Ka Salan, Paratha and Curd

Tuesdays are usually the longest days during the week so we present to you another simple yet healthy meal. Tips for preperation : Prepare the paratha dough in the morning and store the dough in the refrigerator. Once you are back from your day's activities, keep the dough out for 30-45 mins so that it comes to room temperature.

Wednesday

Bisi Bele Bath or Thalapakattu Chicken Biryani, Boondi Raita and Sprouts Salad

For a mid week, simple dish here's a tummy filling mixed bisi bele bath or a thalapakattu chicken biryani (as a non veg option) with a boondi raita and sprouts salad which will make for a healthy midweek meal. Tips for preparation : You can cut all the vegetables that are needed for the bisibelebath and have bisibele bath powder ready during the weekend.

Thursday

Shahi Dal, Tamatar Wali Arbi Sabzi & Phuka

Another classic comfort food is dal, sabzi and roti - its wholesome and nutritious and takes very little time to make. Tip for preperation : You can make the roti dough the previous night or morning and store it in the fridge. In the evening, keep it out of the fridge 30-40 minutes before preparing.

Friday

Milagu Rasam, Cabbage Thoran & Menthia Keerai Paruppu Usili

End your workweek with a simple preparation of pepper rasam with a side of cabbage poriyal and methi paruppu usili along with steamed rice and end your meal with a large glass of spiced buttermilk Tips for preparation : Cabbage can be washed and cut in the morning/previous night, Methi leaves can be plucked from the stems and kept in the fridge the previous night and washed just before preparing the dish.

Saturday

Ginger Fish, Stir Fried Tofu, Veg Hakka Noodles and Chamomile Tea

Liven up your week by making an Indo Chinese cuisine. Prepare a Ginger Fish gravy or a Kung Pao Tofu with vegetables along with a Hakka noodles and end your meal with a hot cup of chamomile tea. Tips for preparation : All the vegetables necessary for the noodles and gravies can be cut either the previous night or in the morning so that you can prepare the dishes quickly.
