Every day meal plans are a daunting task to do all by yourself, since you have many other tasks in the day, especially on weekdays. Weekends would be more blessed than weekdays because we have time to think and organize. It would be great if there is an early plan laid out for the week ahead such that we know clearly of what to shop and how much to shop for the week. Considering this, we are back again with the weeknight dinner recipe ideas that could be of help. This menu for weeknights have a blending mix of cuisines across India & the World (Especially for Friday nights) which help in wholesome nutrition for the nights.

We understand that the only peaceful time when you retrospect your fruitful day is at night. It would be lovely if less time goes into planning and preparing the dinners. This Monday, prepare Steamed rice and pair it with flavourful roasted bell pepper rasam. Roasting the bell peppers before extracting its juice imparts a smoky flavour which you will cherish. To complete the meal plate prepare hot and airy Phulka and keep a side dish like Banarasi Gobhi ki sabzi with cauliflower and nigella.


Gajar Paratha, Lime Pickle, Dal Bukhara & Yogurt

Keep Tuesday simpler with a paratha like Gajar (carrot) ka paratha, a spicy pickle like lime pickle, a bowl of fresh homemade yogurt and also a dal like Dal Bukhara which is made the Punjabi way to pair along. You can make a bowl of steamed rice as well to complete the pairing.


Kashmiri Rogan Josh or Chaman Qaliya with Rice

Prepare a flavourful and lipsmacking Kashmiri Rogan Josh for dinner to pair along with steamed rice and include Phulka if you prefer. If you are a vegetarian, you can prepare a mild but delightful Kashmiri Chaman qaliya made with paneer cubes instead of Rogan Josh. End you meals with a glass of spiced Indian buttermilk.


Tawa Paratha With Egg Butter Masala and Green Baingan Sabzi

Prepare a simple meal with Tawa Paratha, and Egg Butter Masala made with hard boiled eggs and a spicy gravy made with onions tomatoes and spices. Also prepare a Long green brinjal Poriyal Masala as a side to complete the meal. You can also prepare a simple jeera rice that makes a fine pairing with the whole meal.

If you are looking for vegetarian main-course, you can prepare a season fresh Avarekaalu chitranna which is a Karnataka specialty of tempered turmeric rice which also has field beans to chew on. Asian Honey Soy Sticky Chicken or Fried Rice, and Tofu

This weekend prepare an Asian inspired dinner of sticky honey soy chicken and fried rice with veggies. If you are looking for vegetarian option, you can prepare Tofu in spicy orange sauce instead of chicken to pair with fried rice. End your meal with a delicious and healthier 3 ingredient banana ice cream.


Mizoram Inspired Veg Sawhchiar, Dal and Palak Raita

Prepare a one pot meal with a Mizoram inspired veg Sawhchiar which is a rice pilaf with Kashmiri red chillies, bay leaf, paneer and other simple spices. Prepare a dal and raw mango hash with Maharashtrain Kairichi dal and a palak raita to go along with it.
