- 1 cup Kaddu (Parangikai/ Pumpkin) , cut into cubes
- 6 cups Water , or Vegetable Stock
- Salt , to taste
- Whole Black Peppercorns , freshly crushed

To prepare Chinese Savoury Rice Porridge With Pumpkin, in a saucepan add rice, water or stock, salt and ginger pieces.Stir and add pumpkin cubes.
Stir in and add pumpkin cubes.
Cook covered on low to medium heat for about 30 to 40 minutes or until rice are soft and mushy.
