Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Milk , warm
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (Salted) , at room temperature
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • Water , as required
  • Oil , to deep fry and grease
  • For chocolate glaze:
  • 1 cup Caster Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 3 tablespoons Milk

How to make Chocolate Doughnut Recipe

  1. To begin making Chocolate Doughnut Recipe, activate yeast by adding milk and sugar and resting it for 10 minutes.

  2. Now add maida, baking powder, butter and salt.

  3. Combine and knead it to smooth dough, adding water as required.

  4. Grease, cover and rest for 1-2 hours.

  5. Once the dough has raised very well, nearly doubling in its size, punch the dough to release the trapped air and roll slightly thick using a rolling pin.

  6. Now with the help of cutter, cut to doughnut shapes and arrange on a greased parchment paper. Allow to rest in warm place for 2 hours.

  7. Heat a deep frying pan with enough sunflower oil. Once the oil is hot, on medium heat, deep fry each doughnut till golden brown. Take off from oil and drain on a paper towel.

  8. Dip the doughnuts and serve chocolate donuts sprinkled with sugar crystals. This step is completely optional. You can skip adding the coloured sprinkles as well.
