Fresh Fig Compote Recipe is a mish mash of figs cooked along with some freshly grated nutmeg. Both when combined together and simmered over medium heat will give you this lip smacking compote.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Fresh Figs , cut into quarters
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar (Demerara Sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey

How to make Fresh Fig Compote Recipe For Desserts

  1. To begin making the Fresh Fig Compote Recipe, heat a small skillet on medium-low heat, add butter. 

  2. Once the butter has melted, add the figs. 

  3. To the skillet add the demerara sugar, honey and nutmeg powder. 

  4. Give it a good stir and cook until the figs, lose shape and become slightly mushy. 

  5. Once the Fig Compote has turned mushy, turn off the flame and allow the compote to cool. 

  6. Transfer the cooked Fresh Fig Compote into a sterilised jar and store it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and use as desired.

  7. Serve Fresh Fig Compote with some No Bake Steamed Bread Pudding Recipe for a delicious warm dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
