Ingredients

    For the Gulab Jamuns
  • 150 grams Khoya (Mawa)
  • 150 grams Paneer (Homemade Cottage Cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 2 teaspoon Rose water
  • Oil , for frying the gulab jamuns
  • For the gravy
  • 2 Onion , ground into a paste
  • 3/4 cup Homemade tomato puree
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
  • 1 inch Ginger , finely chopped  
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 cup Water , warm
  • 1 Green Chilli , chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander (Dhania) Leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Ghee
  • Salt , to taste

How to make Jodhpuri style Gulab Jamun Ki Sabzi Recipe

  1. To begin making the Jodhpuri style Gulab Jamun Ki Sabzi Recipe, we will first make the Gulab Jamuns.

For the Gulab Jamuns
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine khoya, paneer, flour, ghee, rose water and little salt. Using your fingers, crumble the mixture and knead to bring the dough together. This will take about 15 minutes.

  2. Make medium sized balls, making sure there are no cracks on the balls. 

  3. Heat a kadai with oil on medium flame and fry the jamun balls. Once you get a beautiful golden brown colour, remove the gulab jamuns and place it on an absorbent paper towel.

For the gravy
  1. Heat a heavy bottom pan on low flame add ghee. Next add  cumin seeds, garam masala powder, and the green chillies and onion paste. Fry for 5 minutes .

  2. Once the onions are cooked add the tomato puree and fry for another 4-6 minutes on medium to low flame.

  3. At this stage add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder,  and stir well.  Now pour warm water and let it boil 10 minutes on medium to low. Check for seasoning.

  4. Add the fried jamun balls  and cook on low for 2 minutes. Tun off the heat after 2 minutes and remove Jodhpuri style Gulab Jamun Ki Sabzi into  serving bowl.

  5. Garnish with coriander leaves.
