  • 300 grams Green Chawli Beans (Yard long beans/Karamani/Barbati) , chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/ Kadugu)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 8 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • To Be Ground To Coarse Mixture
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coconut , grated
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 2 sprig Curry leaves
  • Salt , to taste

How to make Kerala Style Karamani Thoran Recipe - Yard Beans Stir Fry With Coconut

  1. To begin making the Kerala Style Karamani Thoran Recipe, blend all the ingredients "to be ground" including coconut, green chillies, curry leaves, salt in a mixer grinder and make a coarse paste. Keep it aside.

  2. In a heavy bottom pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and allow it to crackle. When they crackle, add curry leaves.

  3. Add chopped yard beans, the ground coconut mixture and give it a stir.
