Spicy Egg Biryani Recipe with Figaro Olive Oil

Spicy Egg Biryani is made with the combination of rice, eggs and a lot of spices. This is a perfect dish when you have guests at your home or if you are planning to organise a house party.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup Basmati rice
  • 2 Onions , thinly sliced
  • 1 Onion , sliced and caramelized
  • 2 Tomatoes , finely chopped
  • 3 Whole Eggs , boiled
  • 3 Green Chillies , chopped
  • 2 inch Ginger
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Mint Leaves (Pudina) , chopped
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt (Curd)
  • Saffron strands , a few strands soaked in milk
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 2 Bay leaves (tej patta)
  • 2 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Cloves
  • Salt , to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Figaro Pure Olive Oil
  • For garnishing

Directions for Spicy Egg Biryani Recipe with Figaro Olive Oil

  1. To begin making the Spicy Egg Biryani, soak rice in 1 cup of water for about 20 minutes.

  2. Boil the eggs with water in a saucepan. Once done, peel the shell and keep aside.

  3. Grind the ginger, garlic and green chillies in a pestle and mortar.

  4. Heat oil in the pressure cooker, add the sliced onions and cook them till they change its colour to caramel.

  5. Add the ginger garlic paste and add whole spices. Saute until you can smell the delicious aromas.

  6. Add the pureed tomatoes, the turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder. When the masala is mixed properly, add the eggs, give it a stir, rice, saffron milk, yogurt, salt and mint.

  7. Add 2 cups water and cook for three whistles and turn off the heat.

  8. Once done, turn off the heat and allow the egg biryani to rest for a few minutes.

  9. Stir in the caramelized onions and serve.

  10. Serve Spicy Egg Biryani along with Raita and Mirchi Ka Salan for a delicious meal.
