Spring Onion & Roasted Garlic Brown Rice Recipe is a super healthy rice preparation made using brown rice, using the pressure cooker cooking method. 

Here the brown rice is soaked for a while before adding it to a mixture of garlic and spring onion bulbs cooked in olive oil. 

The prepared Spring Onion & Roasted Garlic Brown Rice is then fluffed and tossed with lush fresh green spring onions leaves that instantly uplift the dish.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup Brown Rice , washed and soaked
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic , finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onion (Bulb & Greens) , bulbs
  • Salt , to taste
  • 1/4 cup Spring Onion Greens

How to make Spring Onion & Roasted Garlic Brown Rice Recipe

  1. To begin making Spring Onion & Roasted Garlic Brown Rice Recipe, keep the rice soaked for a minimum of 30 minutes. 

  2. Heat a pressure cooker with olive oil on medium flame, to this add the garlic cloves and roast until it turns into a light brown colour. 

  3. Next add in the spring onions bulbs and cook until it turns transparent. This will take only about a minute or two. 

  4. Next add in the salt, drained brown rice and 2-1/2 cups of water and close the pressure cooker. 

  5. Pressure cook for about 4-5 whistles and turn off the flame. 

  6. Allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the pressure cooker. 

  7. Once the pressure is released, open  the pressure cooker and fluff the Spring Onion & Roasted Garlic Brown Rice  with a fork, add in the finely chopped spring onions greens and give it a gentle mix, without breaking the rice grains.
